Children

From birth through the elementary years, we grow physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually, as we are nurtured and cared for, educated and challenged. If our caretakers are mature, if they are equipped, if they are supported by camaraderie and community and led by God ... well, we've got a wonderful life in store!

It is the desire of Northport Baptist to help our children grow up as Jesus did - in wisdom, in stature, in favor with God and man - that they might know Him and trust their lives to Him and live for Him eternally.

Children at NBC are cared for and discipled through ongoing preschool and children's ministries including a closely age-graded Sunday School, missions organizations for preschoolers (Mission Friends) boys (Royal Ambassadors) and girls (Girls in Action), and graded choirs, as well as special events and ongoing child care while parents are busy.

Special opportunities for children to meet Christ, grow with friends, and impact the world include these special programs:

• Awana Clubs, a fun-filled kid’s program that combines team games, scripture memory, and a Bible-based lesson aimed at introducing and reinforcing biblical truths to children.
• Daycamp, a summer-long, full-day program for K through Grade 6 children incorporating fun and games, Bible Studies, choir, weekly field trips and swimming.
• Dayschool, a school-year daily morning program for toddlers through Pre-K children, following a curriculum that leads children to know and love God.
• Upward Unlimited, an evangelistic sports ministry of basketball and cheerleading, specifically designed for kindergarten through sixth grade boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child.
